We welcomed 40 mums-to-be for an informative and fun morning at Clinton St Baking Company in City Walk, where ladies expecting their first, second and third babies came along to be treated to a delicious, bump-friendly breakfast, while getting the opportunity to meet with and chat to experts about their pregnancy and impending birth.
A New York restaurant known for its scrumptious breakfasts and delicious American pancakes, our mums-to be were treated to a mouth-watering array of pregnancy-friendly food, including vegetable frittatas, well-done Eggs Benedict, decaf coffee and, of course, those famous pancakes!
Our mums were joined by a team of Baby & Child experts, who were able to give them a broad insight into everything they needed to know about their pregnancy and birth. There was midwife Cecile De Scally and maternity manager Jo Holt from Malaak Mama & Baby Care, who were able to talk about everything from breastfeeding to labour and infant sleep:
There was Dr Rose Logan from The LightHouse Arabia, who was able to talk about maternal self-care and safeguarding against pre- and postnatal depression:
We were also joined by Yasmine AbuAyed, a doula from Delta Strength Doula, who was able to talk to the mums about hypnobirthing and preparing for the labour and childbirth that they want:
There was also Dr Susan Janssens from Novomed Clinic, who chatted to the mothers-to-be about having a healthy pregnancy:
And there was ex-nurse Annie Browne from Health and Safety Solutions, who was able to discuss paediatric first aid and gave a brilliant, interaction demonstration on what to do if your baby is choking:
And finally, Odette Schefermann from Cryosave Arabia spoke to the pregnant mums about stem call storage and why it's something they might want to consider:
Meanwhile, any mums expecting their second or third babies who'd brought their older children along were able to relax while the lovely nannies from Malaak Mama & Baby Care looked after and entertained their little ones.
After a wonderfully interesting and informative morning, where the pregnant ladies were able to interact on an informal yet intimate basis with all of these relevant experts, they all went away with a generous goodie bag, which included a beautiful necklace from MISK nursery, baby food from Anabel Karmel, some sweet treats from Clinton St Baking Company, as well as a whole range of amazing discounts and vouchers.
Thank you to everyone who came along and helped to make it such an interesting and enjoyable morning. Check out more pics below:
