Putting the 'fun' in 'fundraising', the 10th edition of the JPS Spring Fair is slated for Friday 1 March 2019, between 2-6pm, based on the school grounds of GEMS Jumeirah Primary School (JPS) in Al Safa 1. Open to the general public, this joy-filled family event is packed full of activities and a great way to entertain the kids of an afternoon, while raising funds to support children’s education in developing countries.
Drawing crowds of over 5,000 people and set to be hosted by Dubai 92’s Catboy, it offers everything from traditional fair games and shopping at the Traders’ Souq, to delicious food, entertainment and amazing prizes at the Terrific Tombola. A Silent Auction will also include numerous exciting items, from holiday packages in Kuala Lumpur to specialised medical services.
Through its partnership with Dubai Cares, the UAE-based global philanthropic organisation, JPS is set to donate all raised funds to the charity’s ‘Adopt a School’ initiative. In previous years, the funds were used to build schools in Nepal and Malawi, as well as to support Syrian refugee children in Jordan through Dubai Cares’ Early Childhood Development (ECD) program.
“Children and learning are at the heart of our school and we strive to extend the power of education to those less privileged. Other than being a fundraiser, this event is also an opportunity to celebrate our children and our proactive community. We are grateful for all efforts, big or small, that make the JPS Spring Fair an annual success, enabling us to transform, little by little, the lives of vulnerable children,” said Rachel Higgins, Principal/CEO of the school.
Sponsors for the event include Annaka Diamond Jewellery, Aquaduck Recreational Playground, Fade Fit Kids, Kibsons, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and Santa Fe Relocation.
