As the world struggles to piece life back together in the pandemic, eating out with the family is no longer the care-free experience it used to be - not only because of the safety precautions in place, but because many parents are struggling with salary cuts and job uncertainty. In an attempt to soften the blow, Irish eatery McGettigan’s in Jumeirah Lakes Towers has announced a new “Kids Eat Free” promotion. From June 1 this will be an ongoing offer at the venue, with children up to 12 years old eating for free from Sunday to Thursday, 12-3pm.

For every full paying adult purchasing a main course from the outlet’s menu of hearty Irish comfort foods, one child eats completely for free from the children’s menu, which features an array of childhood favourites, including Mac & Cheese and tasty Buttermilk Chicken Strips.

For parents wary of eating out already, the restaurant says it is closely following the latest advice of the local health authorities to supply customers with the highest standard of health and safety to ensure the wellbeing of staff and guests. This includes two-metre social distance stickers leading into the venue, table spacing with hand sanitizers, and every customer entering the venue will be required to wear masks and gloves and will have temperature checks upon arrival.
