Sand play and bubble blasts at Burjuman
There's a colourful world of summer fun for little ones at Burjuman Mall this month, with a range of complimentary activities on offer, from sand play to rock climbing, arts and crafts and toddler-pleasing bubble blasts. Open daily between 4pm and 10pm, it's aimed at children aged 3 to 12, although from 13 to 19 August younger children aged 1 to 3 will also be able to access the play zone accompanied by their parents from 4pm to 6pm. During this time period, if you spend Dh200 or more in any participating children’s stores, you’ll go into the draw for the chance to have your child’s school fees, up to Dh25,000, covered for a whole year. Lego races and treasure hunt at Box Park
Little Lego-fans will love Box Park’s world of Lego, open until 12 August every day from 12pm until 10pm. There are a host of free and interactive activities on offer, including Legoland Dubai’s popular ‘Build and Test’ attraction - where children get to build car models and race them down a ramp - a Lego Minifigures treasure hunt, life-size Lego models, and lots more to entice kids both little and big. Kid Movie Mornings at Reel Cinemas
Reel Cinemas Dubai Marina Mall is showing kid-friendly animated movies every Sunday to Wednesday between 10am and 3pm each day until 23 august. For just Dh30 per person (both adults and kids), you get entrance to the movie, as well as a small salted popcorn and a small juice. Movies include Kung Fu Panda , Trolls, Smurfs, Angry Birds and more. Book online to take advantage of the special offer.
Waterslides and petting zoo at Modhesh world
Sprawling across six halls of the Dubai World Trade Centre, this annual Dubai summer event is a vast indoor edutainment park, with everything from virtual reality pods and ‘experiment stations’, to waterslides, mini train rides, petting zoo and regular themed kids’ live entertainment. This year there’s also a hall dedicated to food trucks, offering a smorgasbord of international street food with every dish promised to be Dh40 or under, plus animated movie screenings and a children’s soft play area alongside. Modhesh World is Dh20 for entry, tickets available at the door. It’s open from Sunday to Wednesday from 11am to 11pm and Thursday to Saturday from 11am to midnight. There’s a 50 per cent discount on entry fees, rides and attractions on weekdays from 11am to 2pm.
Under-the-sea spectacular at City Walk
Every Friday and Saturday, part of City Walk transforms into an underwater spectacular of acrobatics and contemporary dance. Combining creative costumes, lighting and scenery, Under The Sea is an immersive and interactive experience, where kids can explore a Mermaid's Hideout and Pirate's Cove, get involved in a treasure hunt, try out arts and crafts workshops, enjoy live magic shows and win prizes. Entry is free for two adults and two children with a minimum spend of Dh200 at any City Walk outlet. Available until 12 August. Live shows timings: Friday and Saturday, 4:30pm, 7:30pm and 9pm.
